This seminar explores the latest research and regulatory trends aimed at maximizing the positive impact of AI technology on industry and society while ensuring its reliability and safety.
The key topics include:
1. Fundamentals of AI and Key Elements of Trustworthiness
– Robustness: Ensuring stable operation despite uncertainties or external attacks.
– Explainability: The ability to understand and interpret the decision-making process of AI models.
– Fairness: Generating unbiased outcomes free from data-driven discrimination.
2. AI Regulation and Ethical Considerations
– EU AI Act: Strict regulations and transparency requirements for high-risk AI systems.
– AI regulations and policy directions in South Korea.
This seminar will provide insights into the evolving landscape of AI governance and the challenges in building trustworthy AI systems.
👤Pesenter Bio:
Professor Hoki Kim is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Security at Chung-Ang University. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University and has previously worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Engineering Research. He is currently conducting research on trustworthy AI. Specifically, his research focuses on the robustness, generalization, and explainability of AI, aiming for safe and ethical AI applications. He serves as a reviewer for top-tier international conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and AAAI and contributes to renowned academic journals, including IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics & Security.
