ally and internationally under the slogan First in Change, the UNIST Department of Industrial Engineering has quickly emerged as a young and dynamic department driving innovation and advancement in the field of industrial engineering, despite its relatively short history.

Our department focuses on developing advanced quantitative models and techniques to leverage the vast and diverse data sources available today. We recognize the importance of addressing the uncertainties of the future to improve the design and operation of complex systems across industries and society. Data science is a cornerstone of our approach, and we are at the forefront of integrating analytics with traditional industrial engineering disciplines to lead transformative changes.

Our faculty members possess deep expertise in areas such as data science, smart manufacturing, operations research, supply chain management, healthcare decision-making, energy sustainability, and financial engineering. As industrial engineering is highly interdisciplinary, we emphasize collaboration with experts across diverse fields, as well as strong partnerships with industry, government, and non-profit organizations.
