We’re excited to share news about the Industrial Engineering Department’s information session held on April 29th at 6 PM in Building 110’s Haedong Hall A.

The event attracted an impressive 84 freshmen students! The IE professors were thrilled to see such tremendous interest. 😊

What Was Discussed?

The session kicked off with a warm welcome from Department Chair Professor Seong-il Kim, followed by Professor Saerom Park who brilliantly explained the appeal of industrial engineering:

“Industrial engineering is about defining problems and providing optimal solutions through data-based analysis and systems thinking.”

It’s not just about manufacturing anymore! Today’s industrial engineers are making waves in healthcare, logistics, finance, and so many other exciting fields.

Did You Know These Famous Leaders Studied IE?!

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook and Kakao’s Chairman Brian Kim… These renowned leaders all studied industrial engineering! The students’ eyes widened with amazement when they heard this. 🤩

Special Conversations with Professors

After the main presentation, students broke into small groups for discussions with all six professors: Seong-il Kim, Saerom Park, Jisoo Kim, Dongyoung Lim, Youngdae Kim, and Comuzzi Marco. This created a wonderful opportunity for students to dive deeper into the world of industrial engineering through direct conversations.
