Hyunwoo Seo delivered a presentation on his thesis entitled “Masked Time Series Pre-training Models Tailored to the Unique Characteristics of Time Series Data” on December 15th. His thesis focuses on masked pre-training for time series , tailored to their intrinsic and exogenous characteristics, and on applying this approach to biosignal time series foundation models. His thesis is examined by the Ph.D. committee, Dr. Chiehyeon Lim, Dr. Pilsung Kang, Dr. Sungil Kim, Dr. Gi-Soo Kim, and Dr. Dong-Young Lim. Hyunwoo Seo received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science at UNIST in 2020 and has been with the Department of Industrial Engineering as a Ph.D. candidate since then. He will continue his research as a postdoctoral researcher at UNIST from February. Looking forward to your bright future as an alumnus of UNIST IE.
